1000 HERMETIC pumps installed in refineries and petrochemical industry

Since HERMETIC-Pumpen GmbH has successfully launched its latest pump range according to the standard API 685, more than 1.000 pumps have been installed worldwide in refineries and in the petrochemical industry.

A number of approx. 500 pumps was installed in single-stage design acc. to API 685 Heavy Duty Design, however the same number was constructed in the so-called customized design, as multistage or Medium Duty Design for different petroleum services. Thanks to their design characteristics, HERMETIC canned motor pumps are not equipped with parts which bear the risk of being mechanically stressed such as shaft sealing or roller bearing. Consequently, any resulting failures and cost-intensive repairs can be avoided right from the beginning. The benefit is therefore clearly obvious for the customer: long life-time, low spare parts demand and few repairs that positively influence the total costs of ownership (TCO) for the operator.

 

Looking at the energy sector, particularly in refineries and petrochemical industry, the operating and production costs have become more and more important. To optimize costs it is to ensure that plants and machines are increasingly being operated in a reliable way to allow longer life-time. If possible, any repairs and standstill of plant which may arise must be prevented in advance. The idea to carry out a considerable process cost optimization by using reliable and long-life machines has already been picked-up by large companies such as SHELL, BP, TOTAL, EXXON and many others. Therefore, it is used an increasing amount of seal-less canned motor pumps manufactured by HERMETIC.
